So you think!
It's then your sweet, precious adorable, child yells,
MOM,
"I 'NEED' a drink of water"!
Like you, this has happened to me with my children and grandchildren many times.
Sometimes you may already be in bed yourself, half asleep, and the last thing you want to do is trudge into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
Would our attitude change if we knew we were getting paid for it??????
WE ARE!
Of course, because we love our children, (and especially our grandchildren ; ) !!!!!), we would never say no to them,
HOWEVER,
JESUS,
In Matthew 10:42, might have been talking about someone we don't know; a stranger, a missionary, the preacher, a new neighbor, someone going through a difficult time, the down and outers, the homeless, etc. In Matthew 10:42, Jesus says,
".And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward."
In a previous verse, (v. 8), Jesus taught that we are to give
"freely"
This is what He did for us, isn't it?
Isn't it interesting how that we can see Jesus in as small a thing as a child asking for a drink of water!
Hopefully,
they will be able to see Jesus in us as well as we "freely", without thought of reward, give it to them!
We just better be sure we
"Never say NO"! to a cup of water!
