On Day Eight an Athlete! 14 Days of Valentines

On Day Eight of my 14 Days of Valentines, I'm gonna talk about my athlete!

Remember on yesterday's post I told you how there were some areas in which  I wish I could be like my husband?   Well, this area that I'm talking about today  is one of those areas.  Trust me, we are opposites in this area!  He has always been very athletic; I'm not one bit!  He has always loved ballgames of any kind pretty much; I don't!  He loves to hunt and fish; not I!  He is faithful to exercise! Need I say more?  What is it they say, "opposites attract"!  That certainly is true in our case!

I'm glad though that he is that way!  It makes life more interesting, I guess!

He has also run in a couple of 5 mile marathons.  He didn't win, but he ran to the finish and that's what really matters, isn't it!
He loves pretty much any kind of sport that has to do with a ball.  Basketball is his favorite!  He, of course, played while we were in high school, and yes, I remember the days of watching  him "swagger" from the bleachers and across the gym floor with the team as they went to the locker room at halftime of the Jr Varsity game with his "lettered" jacket on!  Those were the days ........that I fell in love, became very attracted to him!

As you can see in the above picture, he never grows tired of basketball.  If he can't play (which he still does and claims he can beat the young ones, ha ha!), then he will just help coach.  He has worked with the basketball team in our school a lot.  When our girls were in school, he also coached the girl's volleyball team
In the spring and Summer it's baseball and in the fall, yes, football.

Even though I don't necessarily like sports that much, I'm glad that he has something that he does for  a little "down time"; something different from the norm of his otherwise very demanding days.  I will admit that I enjoy going to an occasional Kentucky Wildcat's game and any games in which he's  playing where I can cheer him on!

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that my Valentine is a "Good Sport"!  He loves sports and and I love that he loves them!

At a UK game with a buddy of his!  (Oldest grandson, Jackob)
